Hello
Since the Summer Holidays are coming to an end, and kids all around Australia and New Zealand are dreading the fact that they have to go back to school, I thought the time was right to create a School Survival Guide!
In this Survival Guide I will give you 5 main tips in to keeping sane during this School year!
Lets get to it...
1 / / Organise your desk
An organised desk is such a priority you need to keep in tact! Organised desks can make your time doing homework so much nicer as it allows you to have space and (for me) creates a more peaceful feel. Good ways to organise your desk are file holders, pen/pencil holders or anything you may need to keep in one specific place!
As well as keeping your desk organised, it wouldn't kill anyone to style it up. I have a few photos below (off Pinterest) of some desks I found that might give you some inspiration.

2 / / Wall planners
Wall planners are an item I have found I will definately be needing this year as I am heading into NCEA for the first time therefore, my timetable is going to be pretty hectic!
Wall planners, as well as Diaries, are a great way to plan a head of your schedule and get ready for any sort of assignments or special dates you have planned.
This year I have got my hands on the FREE (!!!) Frankie Magazine wall planner in the latest issue! The Frankie Mag wall planner is stunning and can really help you start you off the year in style!
The Frankie Mag wall planner was featured in my last post so click here to check that out.
3 / / Early nights
I find having an early nights sleep is such a good way to end your day whether it have been a busy day or not. Just to have a fresh and well rested body when you wake up in the morning is such a reward.
During the holidays I was having late nights from as late as 10:30-11, which I know isn't late for some but for me that is pretty late! So when I was coming closer to the start of school I decided I needed to build a better sleeping pattern. Sleeping patterns can take a while to adjust to but as long as you have a specific bed time, you should be starting to fall asleep at an earlier time more often.
4 / / Reminders
If you're at school somedays and you don't have your diary within reach I find making reminders on your phone very handy!
Now, if you're one of those people who think they will remember that stupid assignment from History but then don't, this is the tip for you! Making reminders on your phone are so handy as you can create a specific time and date for your phone to remind you on. This can be useful for assignments, tests you need to study on or anything else important!
If you don't like the default reminder app on your phone, if you have an iPhone or Android i'm sure there is some sort of reminding app you can purchase on your phone.
5 / / Organise your backpack
Having an organised backpack is such an important part of my time at school. For me, I have a specific way my bag is packed and that is how it stays. Now this might sound a bit OCD? But it honestly makes your log searches through your bag 100 times quicker.
If you have pockets in your backpack, designate them to specific things such as lip balms and gum, or wallet and keys. Things like these can make your time at school feel so much quicker and organised.
I hope these tips have given you some help to getting back into the school spirit! But for now i'll see you next time.
